My name is Dr. Nicholas Playfair. I’m a specialist orthodontist. I’ve been working in the profession for the last 20 years, and want to work for the next 20 years to come. In our clinic, we offer the best quality care through our advanced techniques, our state-of-the-art materials, and through our team who has been highly trained to give you the best results.
I’ve been accredited in Australia, Canada, and America, and continue to make sure that my knowledge and networks are up to date. Nowadays, we have different options that are available to customize your treatment plan. We use the latest braces and also aesthetic options such as clear braces, Invisalign, and clear aligners.
My orthodontic philosophy focuses on a holistic approach. I place an emphasis on early treatment and aim to minimise the need for extractions to create the best tooth alignment and smiles. I look at the face, the jaw joint, and the airways, and see how these all interrelate with each other.

Dr. Nicholas Playfair is a board-certified specialist orthodontist registered in Australia, Canada, and the United States. He has over 20 years of professional experience and remains active in international orthodontic organizations to maintain the highest clinical standards.
Advanced training and academic background
He holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) and a Master’s Degree in Orthodontics (M.Sc. Ortho), with Fellowship from the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. His postgraduate research focused on Digital Orthodontics, which he presented in the USA, Japan, and Canada.

Dr. Playfair’s approach integrates dental alignment with facial balance, jaw joint function, and airway health. This “full-face” philosophy aims to optimize both facial aesthetics and overall oral function.

He emphasises interceptive and preventive orthodontics - striving to minimise extractions while guiding facial growth and jaw development early in treatment for children and adolescents.
